REBECCA JOHN IN BERWYN COUNTRY
New Work (18th April - 4th May 2007)
Rebecca John (b.1947) began drawing from nature while studying for a dipolma in Fine Jewellery Design at the Central School of Art and Design between 1966 and 1969. In 1994 Rebecca decided to enrol for a one year course in Botanocal Painting at Chelsea Physic Garden, where she received a Diploma with Distinction. From this time, she began to exhibit and sell her work to collectors in England and Wales.
Two exhibitions at Lefevre Gallery, in 1999 and 2001, were sell-outs; in 2000 Rebecca exhibited successfully at Davis and Langdale in New York. Since 2002 she has been working on a large number of commissions, from her homes in London and Wales.
This exhibition consists exclusively of watercolours and drawings inspired by the Berwyn Mountain area near the Welsh border with Shropshire, where Rebecca has worked since 1994.
